It's a pleasure to see you back at Blackburn Primary Care Associates, PC for the final portion of your externship. As you know, I'm Anita Anderson, the Office Manager here at Blackburn and your supervisor during this externship. It is time once again to get started handling some insurance claims.

In this part of your externship, which deals with TRICARE/CHAMPVA, workers' compensation, and disability income insurance claims, you will learn about and complete CMS-1500 claim forms for each type of carrier. Remember, instead of going through the five phases of the lifecycle of a claim, you will be focusing on Phase 2 (Step 5)--insurance claim preparation.
